Introduction

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe and is present in many resources in our environment including fossil fuels, water and plants. Hydrogen fuel can be produced by unlocking the chemical bonds in molecules that form some of these substances. Hydrogen—an excellent energy carrier—can provide fuel for devices as small as digital cameras and as large as stationery fuel cells for buildings, as well as for transportation.
