California Fuel Cell Partnership Welcomes Powertech Labs as a Member Powertech Labs has joined the California Fuel Cell Partnership as it’s 33rd member. Powertech Labs is a subsidiary of BC Hydro, based in British Columbia, Canada, and a pioneer in hydrogen fuel cell technology. In 2002, Powertech Labs designed and engineered the first hydrogen fueling station in the world capable of fast filling hydrogen compressed to 700 bar (70 MPa). The greater the pressure, the more hydrogen that can be stored – increasing the range of travel for hydrogen-powered vehicles. Read more

The California Fuel Cell Partnership Celebrates California’s Fuel Cell Vehicles Reaching Milestone Mileage As the California Fuel Cell Partnership commemorates its eighth anniversary at its annual Earth Day open house on April 21, the organization will also celebrate the millionth mile the California fuel cell vehicle fleet odometer passed earlier this month. National Hydrogen Association Awards California Fuel Cell Partnership’s Executive Director for Meritorious Service The National Hydrogen Association recently presented its Meritorious Service Award to Catherine Dunwoody, California Fuel Cell Partnership’s executive director. The award recognizes her leadership and commitment to the advancement of hydrogen fuel cell transportation over the past decade. Ms. Dunwoody was nominated by Distributed Energy Systems, a CaFCP associate member. Read more

Fuel Cell Vehicle Fleet Transports Inauguration Guests
During Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's inauguration, guests will arrive at events in zero-emission fuel cell vehicles powered by hydrogen. Automotive makers DaimlerChrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and Volkswagen will provide a fleet of passenger vehicles. In addition, Oakland's AC Transit and San Jose's Santa Clara VTA will provide transit buses powered by UTC Power and Ballard Power Systems fuel cells. Read more
